In-Home Sales Consultant

As an In-Home Sales Consultant you will guide homeowners through the selection process by educating them on the features and benefits of the products we offer. These conversations help homeowners differentiate our company and educate them on how our windows and doors will beautify and enhance their home.


You will join an employee-owned company that has been serving the Omaha metro for almost 150 years. Unlike sales roles you may be familiar with, the leads are generated for you and your sales continue to grow as you maintain your repeat and referral  usiness.


You will have access to online education platforms, colleague shadowing, and structured one-on-one training. You are compensated throughout the course of your training on your path to becoming an expert in the industry.

Key Responsibilities and Activities:

  • Customer consultations – in-home meetings to understand the wants and needs of the customer. Address concerns, features, and make credible recommendations based on observations.
  • Product demonstrations (in-home and showroom) – understand the products and services offered to be able to thoroughly explain materials, operation, features, benefits, energy ratings, etc.
  • Quoting – provide detailed estimates for the product based on your observations and the customer’s wants and needs
  • Closing sales – negotiate payment terms, financing options, deposits, and contracts. Give the customer a clear understanding of what to expect, what is and is not covered, etc.
  • Communication – critical to any business but especially so when managing consultation appointments, ordering, deliveries, work orders, and various other steps in the process. Communication with customer and internal logistics team
  • Ongoing education – stay up to date on trends, building codes, product advancements, and classroom training. Maintain technical knowledge of window construction, materials, and installation processes

Required skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Problem-solving abilities
  • Attention to detail for accurate measurements and quoting
  • Ability to work independently

Work environment:

  • Primarily working in customers' homes, conducting in-person consultations
  • Will require office work for processing paperwork and managing project completion
  • Monday – Friday work schedule with occasional Saturdays

Compensation:

  • $90,000 - $150,000+ earning potential. Base plus commission and bonus potential
  • Vehicle allowance $8,520/year ($710/month)
  • Phone allowance $720/year ($60/month)

You must also have: 

  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable accident/moving violation record
  • Flexibility for appointments with our customers
  • Ability to lift at least 30 pounds
